Laser Dentistry

Is the thought of a dental drill leading you to avoid the dentist?

You can relax knowing our practice utilizes laser technology for quicker, more comfortable dental treatments.

Laser dentistry is one of the innovative tools Club 32 Advanced Technology Dentistry uses to treat Clifton, NJ, patients.

What Is

Laser Dentistry?

Laser dentistry can treat the hard and soft tissues in your mouth without scalpels or noisy drills. We use lasers to make dental procedures more efficient and precise. From clearing a cavity in your tooth to addressing gum disease, lasers are an essential technology that our dental practice makes the most of.

Benefits of Laser Treatment

Lasers are an advancement in technology that our team utilizes to the fullest. Lasers can benefit you during your treatment in several ways.

Less Invasive

Lasers can be less invasive than traditional dentistry tools, such as root canal files and dental drills. Thanks to laser dentistry's precision targeting, our dentists can remove decay and infection from a tooth without disturbing your healthy gums and teeth.

Faster Healing

Since they sterilize the area during dental treatment, lasers can lower the risk of post-operation infections and promote a faster healing time. Reduced bleeding from lasers can also aid your healing process.

Faster Appointments

Laser technology can shorten your treatment time. The precision and ease of the laser can tackle more of your dental problems in one visit than traditional tools could.

Gentle and Comfortable

Since lasers are less invasive than traditional tools, they can make your procedure a more gentle and comfortable experience. Patients are less likely to need sedation to feel at ease in the dental chair, and often experience less discomfort after treatment.

Candidates for Laser Dentistry

Our dentists will review your medical and dental history before using laser technology to ensure the process is safe for you. You may especially benefit from laser dentistry if you have any of the following:

Dental Anxiety

If you're anxious about a dental procedure, knowing your treatment will be quick and gentle may help put your mind at ease. No sharp tools are needed when lasers are involved, and the promise of reduced pain can help calm nervous patients.

Sensitivity

Even simple cleanings can be uncomfortable if you have particularly sensitive teeth or gums. Lasers offer a gentle treatment option that may help patients with sensitivity receive dental care more comfortably.

Gum Disease

If you have advanced gum disease, a common symptom is sensitive, inflamed gums. The laser can gently remove the diseased gum tissue and leave the healthy tissue untouched. Treatment is often more comfortable because of the laser's less invasive nature.

Tooth Decay

If you have a cavity on a tooth that needs to be filled, dental drills and traditional tools involved in the procedure can be intimidating. Lasers can perform this process more precisely, and you won't have to listen to the whirring of the drill during your appointment.

What Problems Can Laser Dentistry Treat?

Club 32 Advanced Technology Dentistry utilizes laser technology to make your experience pleasant and comfortable. Super-focused beams of light, lasers are used in our Clifton dentistry office for various purposes, including:

Cavity Treatment

Lasers are a great cleaning tool for comfortably ridding the teeth of decay. Our lasers can both remove tooth decay and aid in filling the cavity.

Lesion Removal for Biopsy

If your dentist notices a lesion on your mouth that may be oral cancer, they can remove it comfortably using lasers. We can then send it to a lab for biopsy.

Gum Disease Treatment

Lasers help our dentists precisely remove infected gum tissue. The laser reduces human error with its pin-point precision, allowing your dentist to remove all the bad tissue while leaving the good.

Root Canal Treatment

Lasers can be used in root canal treatment to clean the root canal effectively. The precision of the laser lends to a deeper clean and a less painful experience for the patient.

Nervous About Treatment?

Sedation Can Help

Even with the gentle touch of lasers, dental procedures can induce anxiety. We offer light sedation in the form of nitrous oxide, otherwise known as laughing gas. This "sweet air" helps calm the body and mind and wears off within 15 minutes of removing the mask from your nose. You get the benefit of a relaxing dental visit and can drive home after your procedure.

With procedures where pain or discomfort may arise, such as root canal treatment or cavity fillings, we provide patients with local anesthesia. Local anesthesia does not have any psychological effects on the patient but completely numbs the treatment area for a virtually painless procedure.
